Bimini is located only 50 miles from the United States, making it one of the easiest and cheapest places to visit in the Bahamas. Bimini can be accessed by boat or plane in only a few short hours.

Boats to Bimini

FRS Caribbean – FRS operates a fast ferry offering two hour shuttle service from the port of Miami to North Bimini. This is generally the best and cheapest option for getting to Bimini if you are already in Florida, or are planning to fly in from elsewhere in the continental US or Canada. If you are bringing your own gear, they can transport larger cargo for a fee – generally about $100 each way. The staff is very friendly and accommodating, but plan to arrive early on the day of departure to make sure your gear gets on board. Travelling with FRS requires a passport and you can expect your bags to be checked by security just like at the airport.

The boat arrives at the Bimini ferry dock and you will be transported by complimentary shuttle to the Hilton Resort World Bimini. Here you have access to plenty of services including Accommodations, food/drink, taxis and golf cart rentals.

Disclaimer: if you get sea sick, this may not be your best option. The ride between Miami and Bimini can be bumpy at times and although they offer complimentary sea sickness pills on board, you often see passengers who are sick on the ride over.

The ferry doesn’t sail every day, so make sure to plan ahead. Check out the FRS Caribbean website for more info, including rates and departure times.
